Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/16/19

This past week took a hit on productivity as we seemed to be in a constant state of change and getting to where it appeared the fish moved was a tough move. Water current on the main river was so strong that working into the current pull was nearly impossible and fishing with it was too fast to create a bite. Consequently, for me we struggled this past week as
bites were at a premium.
We tried to stick to our pattern of rattle baits SPRO Aruka shad, Picasso shock Blades, SPRO square bills and Tight-Line swim jigs rigged with Missile bait swim baits. The biggest thing we tried to do was cover water all week as finding groups of fish was spotty at best and unless you stayed on your trolling motor it was tough. We were forced to stay is less than 6 ft. of water most of the week because of the current.
Come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you, no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great time on the water. We fish with great sponsor products, Lowrance Electronics, Ranger Boats, Boat Logix Mounts, T&H Marine products, Duckett Fishing, Vicious Fishing, Navionics mapping and more!

This past week for me was not at all what I expected, the bass were spotty and a finding a consistent pattern was a challenge. Yes, we caught fish but you worked hard for the bites and finding a pattern that you could count on was a tough task. The good news is that the pattern the fish were in was one that over the years tells me that its about to really bust loose and some great improvement is right around the corner.
Baits were still very similar expect the soft plastic bite is picking up every day and generally when that occurs the lake shows great improvement from one week to another. We fished big worms, Missile bait “48” stick baits, SPRO Aruka Shad, Tight-Line football jigs and Picasso Shock Blades. We fished mainly in less than 6 ft. of water and tied to work our baits slowly.

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 3/30/19

I guess I can say I have never seen so many boats on Guntersville as there was this past week between the Big Bass Splash and a high school tournament with over 700 boats the lake was very busy. For the most part the crowds did not deter the fish as they bite every day, I was on the water but one. I believe that was more related to the current change than anything.

Some of the best news is the soft plastic bite has picked up tremendously with the Missile bait D-Bomb catching lots of fish and their stick bait “48” not far behind. We also worked Picasso spinner baits having some success slow rolling them along the grass edges, the Picasso Shock blade also produced some bites. Fishing is good we are staying in the 4 to 10 ft. water covering water and slowing when we get bit.

Come fish with me I have guides and days available to fish with you; no one will treat you better or wok harder to see you have a great day on the water. Spring break time call us we have guides. We fish with great sponsor products Lowrance Electronics, Ranger Boats, SPRO Fishing, Duckett Fishing, Boat Logix Mounts, Vicious Fishing, T&H marine products, Navionics mapping and more!

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/6/19

I believe we have gone through a first wave of the spawn, we are in the in-between stage right now where it appears to me that the bass not shallow and not deep they are suspending in the 8 ft. water. This tells me that one wave is moving back out and healing up and the next wave is about to move back in. I know this sounds funky but that’s how the fish are acting, as the shallows that seemed loaded last week with fish are spotty at best.

The baits we used this week were very much centered around soft plastics, Missile bait “48” stick baits and D-Bombs were our number one choice and when we found some more active areas; we fished Tight-Line swim jigs and Missile bait swim baits. It’s also time to fish the Picasso buzz baits over these spawning flats and that is producing some bites.

Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water we fish with great sponsor products, Lowrance Electronics, Mercury motors, Ranger boats, Duckett Fishing, Vicious Fishing, T&H marine, Boat Logix Mounts, Navionics mapping and more.

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/13/19

The lake has finally turned on, the daily consistency is the best its been all year, catching fish was at its best all season. The biggest difference is the weather was better making the fish stay in a similar pattern all week, you could find them most of the week doing the same thing from depth to movement every day.

The only thing that you had to do was slow down, keep you bait on the bottom and just keep fishing the grass and edges of the structure. We used most of the different Missile Bait soft plastics, D-Bombs, D-Stroyers, “48” stick baits and kept them on the bottom. Some of our fish came from the Tight-Line Swim jig but that was the lone ranger when I was searching for fish. The lake should get much easier for the rest of the spring and early summer until we get really-hot, keep fishing from 3 to 9 ft. of water and you will find all different stages of fish.

Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water. We fish with great sponsor products Lowrance Electronics, Ranger boats, Mercury motors, Boat Logix mounts, Vicious Line, Duckett Fishing, T&H marine, Picasso Lures, Power Pole, Navionics mapping and more.

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/20/19

We have just gone through one of the best weeks of the 2019-year, bass are active, on the move and responding to many different presentations. If you haven’t been fishing, your missing some great days on Lake Guntersville. Even better is the post spawn bite is starting to show up and the big fish will be really-active and catching 4 to 6 lb. fish will be easy.

Just about everything we did this past week was soft plastic bites, the bass are responding to plastics and the fun of a hook set is there every day. Missile bait D-Bombs, ‘48”stick baits and Craw Fathers were about all we fished with all week long. We also caught fish on Tight-Line swim jigs and regular jigs. We fished 8 ft. in all week.
On another note the Shell Cracker are going on the bed and the next 6 weeks will be great timing for the shell cracker fisherman. Many of you wanted to book trips for shell cracker fishing the timing is now call me and we will set you up!

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 4/27/19

There is no doubt were at the best time of the year, with few exceptions fishing is great there is many chances to land fish, plenty of bites and lots of fun. The best news of it all is there is all three phases of the bite right now, spawning fish, post spawn fish and pre spawn fish. You can target any phase you want and catch fish.

We targeted all three phases with several baits, Picasso spinner baits, Tight-Line jigs and swim jigs, Missile Bait ‘48” stick baits and D-Bombs and threw some Picasso buzz baits over bedding fish. All caught fish at one point during the day, all were fun and rewarding for my customers this past week.

Come fish with us we have guides and days available to fish with you we have a team of guides second to none; and we have days available for you. Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 5/4/19

Guntersville remains extremely strong as this past week was nothing short of awesome and the better news was the fish increased in size everyday setting up the rest of the month for the bigger fish to be easier to find. It appears to me that the warming water temperature has moved bigger groups of fish and fishing is just getting better.

We stayed in less than 8 ft. of water all week looking for structure, grass and current breaks. We pretty much fished just a few baits, Picasso Spinner Baits, Tight-Line Swim jigs and Missile bait D-Bombs. It was easy and fun once you found a group of fish you just had to work that area thoroughly and move on when the bite stopped.

Come fish with us I have experienced guides and days available to fish with you, no one will treat you better or work harder to make sure you have a great day on the water. With the better weather finally setting in its time to put together your customers and have a great time fishing; we do corporate trips and would be glad to work with you! We fish with great sponsor products, Lowrance Electronics, Vicious Fishing, Boat Logix mounts, Navionics mapping, Ranger Boats, Mercury Motors, Duckett Fishing, SPRO fishing and more.

Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/10/19

As we move into August it appears that the fishing on Guntersville has remained strong, there some dead time but for the dogdays of August we are catching good numbers and decent size. The day is limited especially if you don’t like being out in the heat bur for the first 4 to 6 hrs. of the morning fishing is strong.

So far, the month of August I personally haven’t seen a lot of current being pulled limiting you to let the early morning wind and natural jetty areas to find fish. This has moved the bass some-what to different locations. We are mainly catching fish in 8 to 10 ft. water with top water baits over grass the Picasso buzz bait, Zara Spook and pop-r’s being my best choice of baits. The big worm is also catching fish but for me it’s a second choice.

Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water; I have a team of guides with many years of experience on Guntersville. We fish with great sponsor products, Lowrance Electronics, Ranger Boats, Mercury Motors, Boat Logix mounts, Vicious fishing, Duckett fishing, SPRO Fishing, Navionics mapping and more.
