Hello from Caddo Lake
With the cold February we had and the beginning of March being so cold the spawn has just started to kick in some. Temps ranging from 59 to 64 degrees for most of the lake we are starting to find the big girls moving in on the trees now.
April will be setting up nicely for a tremendous spawn and should carry over into May.
Wacky worm senkos have worked best with flukes and swimbaits producing at times staying in 3 feet or less. When the the wind is blowing out of the southwest the moving baits have worked better and of course with fronts and east wind the slow finesse presentations are more effective. We had trips last week of 33 bass , 26 bass, 21 bass and 19 bass with clients and with several pushing the 4 to 5 lb range. We have not been able to put a trophy in the boat but there have been two over 12lbs and I believe 6 over 10 lbs weighed in total the last two weeks by folks fishing the lake.
